Characteristics, advantages, and technical challenges of new LED display screens
Whether it is a small pitch LED display screen or an LED irregular screen, the technology is mature and the products can greatly meet the needs of consumers. LED display factories are also increasingly innovating. Below, the author will briefly introduce two new types of LED displays:
1. Small pitch LED display screen
Characteristic advantages: Small pitch LED display refers to indoor LED display screens with LED dot pitch below P2.5, mainly including P2.5, P2.0, P1.9, P1.8, P1.6, P1.5 and other LED display products. The biggest advantage of indoor high-density small pitch LED display screens is that the screens are completely seamless and display colors in a natural and realistic manner. At the same time, in terms of post maintenance, mature point by point calibration technology has been developed. Display screens that have been used for more than two years can be calibrated using instruments for the entire screen at once. The operation process is simple and the effect is also very good.
Technical difficulties: Constrained by packaging devices and technology. The smaller the spacing, the smaller it becomes, and there are some challenges in its manufacturing process, such as the production process at ultra-high temperatures. The small spacing itself is very small, and the distance between materials is reduced to a very short distance. As long as there is a small error, many intermittent defects will occur.
2. Irregular display screen
Characteristic advantages: The emergence of irregular LED display screens has broken the limitations of large screen splicing systems, which can only be spliced into cold rectangular shapes. They can be freely spliced into various irregular shapes to display highly creative content. This not only attracts the audience’s attention in the first time and achieves better promotional effects, but also expands the application scope of LED display screen splicing.
Technical difficulties: Due to the different appearances and structures of LED irregular screens, the technical requirements for manufacturers are also more stringent. If the manufacturer’s technology is not up to par, the assembled LED screen will have many problems such as uneven appearance due to large seam gaps and discontinuous splicing surfaces, which will affect the viewing effect and destroy the overall design aesthetics. More importantly, the design of the circuit and structure of LED irregular screens is complex, which requires high research and development capabilities from manufacturers.
